  1. The averaged Ct values of the triplicate analysis are quoted for EPO-deficient and control mice. The Ct values were normalized against Cish2 expression because the latter was not affected by the EPO deficiency. The relative expression of each gene in EPO-deficient mice was calculated by comparison with the corresponding gene expression in control mice. There was a statistically significant correlation (Pearson coefficient: 0.87; p < 0.01) between the expression values for 19 genes according to the RT-qPCR assays and the expression values according to the microarray analysis.
